Bringing the Theater to Newaygo County
For over 20 years, LionHeart Productions has been striving to bring the theater to Newaygo Country through a variety of fun, family-friendly productions. What started as a small community theater group performing small plays in the gym of the Grant Elementary School has exploded into a full-blown theatrical movement in Newaygo County. We have had casts of over 50 people, both new and seasoned veterans, come to participate in our shows, which now feature elaborate sets and backdrops, amazing costumes, local musicians, and special effects such as pyrotechnics and fly equipment.
If that sounds like something you’d like to see or be part of, LionHeart has productions twice a year. Typically, our fall show is a musical, requiring singers and musicians, and the spring show is a legit show, meaning there is no music. Auditions are always open to the public. Rehearsals take place in Grant, and performances are primarily at the Grant Fine Arts Center connected to the Grant High School.
